DeeDee Fountain is a singer, songwriter, and multimedia artist from Inglewood, California.

She first released music under the name The Davis Fountain, including the independent album Can’t Wait Until Dark. Recorded across San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles, the project pulled from R&B, electronic music, pop, new wave, and the darker sounds that have always influenced her.

Then life went in another direction.

DeeDee spent the years that followed moving around, living in different places, and eventually spending nearly eight years in Berlin. She stepped away from releasing music, but not from music itself. She kept listening, writing, experimenting, and collecting ideas while figuring out what she actually wanted to do next.

Now she’s back.

Not with a carefully manufactured reinvention or some grand comeback story. She’s simply making things again.

That means new music, revisiting parts of her earlier catalog with fresh ears, writing about the records and artists she loves, experimenting with technology, and documenting what it’s like to return to creative work after being away from it for a long time.

The perspective is different now. She’s older, considerably less concerned with fitting into an industry box, and more interested in following whatever genuinely excites her.

After years of making music, moving around, disappearing for a while, reappearing somewhere else, and generally taking the scenic route through life, DeeDee Fountain is making things again.

For reasons even she can’t entirely explain, this particular chapter begins in New Jersey.
